WHAT DOES IT MEAN? LOGISTICS LEXICON
This month’s term is consignee. A consignee is the party identified on shipping documents as the recipient of goods to be delivered. This party is responsible for paying customs duties as the designated owner of the goods. The consignee may be the importer of record (or “sold to”) of the goods, but that is not always the case. They may also be called the “ship to,” receiver, client, or customer. The consignee does not formally take possession of the goods until it pays the consignor. The consignor is usually the party that shipped the goods.

ATTENTION: FUEL SURCHARGE NOW UPDATED WEEKLY
In March we began updating our fuel surcharge weekly. The surcharge matrix and calculation will remain exactly the same. The weekly surcharge is based on the national average price of fuel from the previous Monday, as reported by the Department of Energy. (Please refer to the Weekly Retail Gasoline and Diesel Prices: US index, for regular gas.) You can find a table illustrating the surcharge here. As always, Blue Streak’s fuel surcharge remains among the lowest in the region.
